Observe and Report

The farmers Market Saturday September 11, 2010 10:05 a.m.
Standing kitty corner, past the cars waiting for me to cross I could see many people congested between white topped tent covers, I could hear faint blue-grass type styled music coming from what sounded like a live band. I often times leave the Farmers Market with nothing but a smile, I love going there to see what there is too see, there are always interesting people and so many things to see, it can be different every time.

When I first entered the “market” I had to make a very serious decision, what do I look at first? There was someone selling every thing you could think of. Jewelry, cheese, paintings, books, hats, homemade salsas etc.

The first thing I looked at was very interesting jewelry, jewelry I am sure that only very interesting people would wear. Big and gold, Gaudy as hell, there was very large charms to go on necklaces, with hands, dragons, and bleeding hearts even all in one. The lady selling the jewelry had long dark hair and dark eyes, she was wearing multiple rings on each finger. She had what looked like ten different gold chains on her neck with one large charm. The charm looked like a tree branch growing out of her neck, it had a hand coming out of the end of it holding what I supposed was supposed to be a crystal ball.

The next stop, an area surrounded by people in blue shirts that red “Best Friends Animal Adpotion,” there were all these puppies and even full grown dogs socializing with little aprons on their back that read “adopt me”. They’ll make you think about what it would be like to have them in your family. One in particular caught me because he was almost bigger then me, a gold colored mastiff mix with slobber coming out of both sides of his mouth, his eyes were drooping downward but he still looked like he was smiling. He was adorable.

MMM the darkest red cherries I have ever seen, thanks for the sample, give me more. Home grown and well worth the 99 cents a pound. When I bit into the cherry it was so juicy that the dark purplish juice seemed to temporarily stain my fingers. You could almost smell all the natural fresh picked food around, the most delicius homemad salsas I have ever had it was hard to only pick 2 to buy. You could tell by the deep color and soft texture that the tomatoes were very juicy and flavorful, just as juicy as the cherry.

I came apon a tent with books, in the very front, the first book most would see was bright copper colored cover of The Secret, because I am rather fond of this book I immediately drew my attention to it. The lady selling the books walked up, she was wearing warm and calming colors- burgandt - chocolate browns and large earings in the shape of leaves, she began to praise it, it was almost if you could feel the positive energy coming off of her. She did not stop smiling one time through our conversation. She talked about how the Law of Attraction is life changing and that no one should ever have to go through a day in a n unhappy state of mind.  I was glad that I came in contact with her.

Continuing to explore before I can control myself I am reaching my arms out screaming “ awww no wonder people buy you!!!” I am a ‘large dog’ person but these were the cutest little bull dog puppies ON THE PLANET. of course that is my opinion but oh my gosh, if their natural noiseyness wasn’t so annoying I would have marched over to the pet adoption area and demanded a bull dog puppy. They were still as wrinkly but the wrinkles were puppy sized, their annoying noises were very quiet and they just seemed so huggable. One of the best parts about this place was all of the animals around to fall in love with.

The entire place was filled with entrpenuers with all different talents in making, and growing; all around creating. Very good vibes coming from everyone, a social environment where people just want to share what they can offer and you can really feel that.

Overwhelmed by colors you can get any piece of fabric in tye dye, with too many colors too pick a favorite.  There was a beautiful Bob Marly blanket hanging up, it was dyed with green, yellow, and red and it had gold flake like looking paint around the edges with sort of sparkly black fabric behind it. It was very eye catching, there were 3 other people looking at it at the same time as me. One of them mentioned to their friend how stoned Bob looked, his were rather red.
It was hard to concentrate on one thing in this environment because there was just that much you want to see and experience. Walking away I can still hear feel the very social and worry free vibe of the Farmer's Market, I can't wait to go again before the season is over, even if it is just to see "what's going to be at the Farmer's Market today?"
