The farmers Market Saturday September 11, 2010 10:05 a.m.
Standing kitty corner, past the cars waiting for me to cross I could see many people congested between white topped tent covers, I could hear faint blue-grass type styled music coming from what sounded like a live band.
When I first entered the “market” I had to make a very serious decision, what do I look at first? There was someone selling every thing you could think of. Jewelry, cheese, paintings, books, hats, homemade salsas etc.
The first thing I looked at was very interesting jewelry, jewelry I am sure that only very interesting people would wear. It was very large charms to go on necklaces, with hands, dragons, and bleeding hearts even all in one.
The next stop, an area surrounded by people in blue shirts that red “Best Friends Animal Adpotion,” there were all these puppies and even full grown dogs socializing with little aprons on their back that read “adopt me”. They’ll make you think about what it would be like to have them in your family.
MMM the darkest red cherries I have ever seen, thanks for the sample, give me more. Home grown and well worth the 99 cents a pound. You could almost smell all the natural fresh picked food around, the most delicius homemad salsas I have ever had
it was hard to only pick 2 to buy. You could tell by the deep color and soft texture that the tomatoes were very juicy and flavorful.
I came apon a tent with books, in the very front, the first book most would see was The Secret, because I am rather fond of this book I immediately drew my attention to it. The lady selling the books walked up, she was wearing calm pretty colors and large earings, she began to praise it, it was almost if you could feel the positive energy coming off of her. She was all smiles and I was glad that I came in contact with her.
Continuing to explore before I can control myself I am reaching my arms out screaming “ awww no wonder people buy you!!!” I am a ‘large dog’ person but these were the cutest little bull dog puppies ON THE PLANET. of course that is my opinion but oh my gosh, if their natural noiseyness wasn’t so annoying I would have marched over to the pet adoption area and demanded a bull dog puppy. One of the best parts about this place was all of the animals around to fall in love with.
The entire place was filled with entrpenuers with all different talents in making, and growing; all around creating. Very good vibes coming from everyone, a social environment where people just want to share what they can offer.
Overwhelmed by colors you can get any piece of fabric in tye dye, with too many colors too pick a favorite.
It was hard to concentrate on one thing in this environment because there was just that much you wanted to see and experience.
Memory Grove Sunday September 12th 11:00 a.m
Memory Grove gives out a sense of peace when you experience the sound of the water and the beautiful green foliage, it’s evem more amazing on days like these, 75 degrees, beautiful sun, baby blue skies with light cloud designs.
Looking ahead your eyes do not find an end point in the trees. Walking along the man made brook and looking at the large fountains, it’s almost as if you are looking at a scene on television.
Wedding pictures are being taken in front of a large Weeping Widow tree which in context is very ironic.
You could almost play some of these scenes off as a paper background in a photo studio.
There are many paths to take. We came accross a concrete bridge poorly structured over a very pretty creek. There was a peace signed tagged in spray paint and I sat directly on it.
This is another place where a lot of people bring their dogs. It's rather entertaining to analyze their individual personalities. After we left the concrete bridge we walked back towards the fountains and found the perfect shaded spot sit and view the active area.
Memory Grove has a lot of old buildings and myths surrounding it, one of which is the myth of the ghost at Memory Grove who was reportedly Murdered in one of the buildings, and there is also a very interesting "Meditation Chapel" which is not always open to go inside.
There was a very happy playful and a bit antagonizing young black dog. Not sure where is owners were as he was everywhere, he would go up to every dog on a leash and pounce around it almost as if he was tempting the other dogs to chase it even though they were leashed. We watched and laughed as he went from family to family getting a response from every furry member. The climax of his adventure was when he encountered a Great Dane, very large in comparison, he stopped dead in his track when he realized what he was about to endure as the large dog stood his ground he flinched at him and the small black dog used all the energy he could run about 300 feet away and it seemed as if he did this to give himself time to think of a plan because he did the sharpest turn around and darted directly back at the Great Dane. Despite his efforts he was again scared off and then chased by a fat dog even littler then him.
Analyzing this little guy definitely put a humorous ending to the walk at Memory Grove.
